Renault India has announced that the new Renault Duster has received a 5-star safety rating under Bharat NCAP.

With this, the Duster becomes the 31st car in India to achieve a full 5-star rating, showing how safety standards are improving across the industry.

As per official results, the SUV scored 30.49 out of 32 in adult occupant protection and 45 out of 49 in child occupant protection. These scores place it among the stronger performers in its segment.

In crash tests, the Duster performed well in both frontal and side impacts. It scored high in frontal offset tests and achieved a perfect score in side impact tests, highlighting its strong safety performance.

The SUV is currently ranked among the top 15 cars in India in terms of adult safety scores. This puts it alongside some of the safest vehicles in the market.

The result also reflects a wider trend. More cars in India are now focusing on safety. Recently, models like the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Venue also received 5-star ratings.

Out of 34 cars tested so far under Bharat NCAP, 31 have secured 5 stars, while only a few received 4 stars. This shows that safety is now a key factor for car buyers.

The Duster also scored well in child safety. It comes with ISOFIX mounts and supports modern child seat systems, ensuring better protection for children.

In terms of features, the SUV offers multiple safety systems as standard. These include airbags, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring and seatbelt reminders.

It also gets advanced driver assistance features like adaptive cruise control and emergency braking, adding to overall safety.

With this update, the Duster now combines its known strengths like ride quality and SUV capability with proven safety credentials, making it a stronger option in the mid-size SUV segment.
